Data analysis is an essential tenet of analytical chemistry, extending the possible information obtained from the measurement of chemical phenomena. Chemometric methods have grown considerably in recent years, but their wide use is hindered because some still consider them too complicated. The purpose of this review is to describe a multivariate chemometric method, principal component regression, in a simple manner from the point of view of an analytical chemist, to demonstrate the need for proper quality-control (QC) measures in multivariate analysis and to advocate the use of residuals as a proper QC method. 相似文献

Listeners reported the apparent spatial positions of wideband noise bursts that were presented either by loudspeakers in free field or by headphones. The headphone stimuli were digitally processed with the aim of duplicating, at a listener's eardrums, the waveforms that were produced by the free-field stimuli. The processing algorithms were based on each subject's free-field-to-eardrum transfer functions that had been measured at 144 free-field source locations. The headphone stimuli were localized by eight subjects in virtually the same positions as the corresponding free-field stimuli. However, with headphone stimuli, there were more front-back confusions, and source elevation seemed slightly less well defined. One subject's difficulty with elevation judgments, which was observed both with free-field and with headphone stimuli, was traced to distorted features of the free-field-to-eardrum transfer function. 相似文献

Electrochemical reduction of either cinnamaldehyde or retinal in acetonitrile containing 0.5 M. TBAP and water or phenol leads to a mixture of dimeric products. However, electroreduction of either of these aldehydes in the presence of the carbon acid, diethyl malonate, leads to increased yield of pinacol formation. The mechanism of these electrodimerization reactions has been discerned using cyclic voltammetry-variations in peak potential as a function of scan rate, proton donor concentration and concentration of aldehyde have been compared to published diagnostic criteria. Retinal and cinnamaldehyde form dimeric products in a radical-radical coupling pathway. The major mechanistic feature that correlates with product distribution is the association (solvation) of oxygen acids, phenol and water with the radical anion. In contrast, diethyl malonate reacts with the radical anion of either cinnamaldehyde or retinal by a direct proton transfer. 相似文献
